I am a creative, organized, inspiring musician with over forty years of experience teaching students and adults in both secular and church environments, musical and non-musical settings. I am passionate about sharing the gift of music by empowering musicians to discover and excel in their strengths and talents. The foundation of my teaching is through building relationships with students, focusing on authentic real-world musical experiences, where students are trained by an experienced musician. Incorporating the seven elements of music, students are guided to act and think like musicians using musical vocabulary, processes, and procedures to justify their own knowledge through listening, reflecting, and critiquing. I am commitment to excellence implementing leadership and critical thinking skills to find solutions not only to musical dilemmas but also to every day challenges in life skills.

My goal is to create musical moments that inspire each and every student to exceed beyond any limitations that are imposed upon them.  When students see what can be accomplished by sharing the beautiful gift of music, when students see that they can be good at something, when students are a part of something that is bigger than themselves – they are empowered to care about themselves and those around.  

I’ve been married to my wonderful and supportive husband Len for 45 years, I have three children 42, 38, and 24, and I have 3 grandchildren who live in Bulgaria.  My 4 pets are 2 black labs Elvis & Rusty, a Black Lab mix, Moose, and my beloved Yorkie Poo, Poppy.  I received  my Master of Arts: Music Education – Musical Studies from Liberty University.  Two most interesting facts:  I lived in RURAL #kennylake Alaska for 10 years and #2 - I'm addicted to yard art and gardening.  I spend my summers visiting Bulgaria and traveling to other countries like Italy, Greece & Turkey.
